Ski Maine Adaptive Skiing Programs

The following is a listing of adaptive ski programs at our Member Ski Areas.


Sunday River Ski Resort:

Maine Handicapped Skiing offers adaptive downhill skiing and snowboarding lessons to children and adults with a physical disability (ages 6 and over). Lessons are offered free of charge Sunday through Friday starting January 3rd through March 30th, 2007. MHS provides trained volunteer instructors and regular and adaptive ski equipment and Sunday River Ski Resort provides lift tickets. An application & doctor's permission are required for participation.

Sunday River Inn and Cross Country Center:

Maine Handicapped Skiing offers adaptive cross country skiing and snowshoeing lessons to individuals who have a physical disability. Lessons are offered free of charge Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays starting January 3rd through March 30th, 2007. MHS provides trained volunteer instructors and regular and adaptive ski equipment and Sunday River Inn and Cross Country Center provides trail access passes. An application & doctor's permission are required for participants.

Sugarloaf/USA

Maine Handicapped Skiing offers adaptive downhill skiing and snowboarding lessons to individuals who have a physical disability. Lessons are offered free of charge on weekends only starting January 6th through March 30th. MHS provides trained volunteer instructors and regular and adaptive ski equipment; Sugarloaf provides the lift tickets. An application & doctor's permission are required for participation.

Maine Handicapped Skiing-
Home of Maine's largest one-day fundraiser-
The 21st annual Ski-A-Thon!
We topped $329,000 in pledges in 2006!

Maine Handicapped Skiing holds an annual Ski-A-Thon fundraiser to support the program. The next event, which involves a free day of skiing, food, entertainment and great prizes for participants, will be held on March 24th, 2007 at Sunday River Ski Resort and Sunday River Inn and Cross Country Ski Center.
